When weird takes over.
Hi,
My counsellor has been trying for months to get me surrounded by support people cause my dissociative disorder is causing me to become suicidal level depressed. For years I have struggled to find anyone and suddenly, within a month, I have a specialist in DID who has confirmed the diagnosis, a potential treatment centre, I have gone on a healthfund, because the first specialist was too far away, I found a gp who is lovely and not afraid of the diagnosis and today, through the gp, I was able to locate a psychiatrist 30 mins away who specializes in trauma related disorders, including DID. Ok, now as if that isn't amazing enough...the new psychiatrist I saw today, I saw him when he use to be a gp, some 30 years ago! He was a psychotherapist back then, but went back and became a psychiatrist. It's kind of like going full circle. I'm keeping my current therapist, she's pretty good, but when things go pairshaped, I will have other people's support too.
Ooohhh...someone's pissed off inside now. It isn't happy we are getting help, not part of the self-destruction plan. I don't care...this is a bit of good news. I'm not alone, not invisible, I am being looked after. Feels nice but weird...new experience.
